Joshtek is a brand new Technology company based in South Yorkshire. Our aim is to be an IT department for companies that are not large enough to have their own. We provide friendly, professional and impartial advice both in sales and service of IT systems and other technology products. Goodbye Ultima…..
Those of you reading this who know me, will know that for the last fifteen or so years I have been trading as Ultima Computer Services. However, with the launch of Joshtek Limited it is with a tinge of sadness I’ll be saying goodbye to the name and closing the (virtual?) doors of Ultima forever. That sadness will be short-lived once we set about making Joshtek the success I know it will be.
Why the change?
On the 12th of May last year Josh Peter Hickman, my son, was born. Up to that point I had been a ‘plodder’. I had been self-employed, running Ultima for nearly fifteen years. I had built up a small loyal customer base who I did a good job for. It earned a living for my partner and I but nothing more, and to be honest I was happy with that, I never wanted to be the next Alan Sugar or Peter Jones. In that fifteen years, I have seen people no smarter or any more talented than me start businesses that really took off and now employ dozens of people and I was happy for them.
In those first moments after Josh was born I realised being a ‘plodder’ was no longer enough. I now had a family, this beautiful little boy was now relying on me to give him the best start in life I possibly could. So as the name suggests he is my inspiration for Joshtek Limited and I intend to work my socks off to make it a huge success and with the help of all my customers old and new I know it will be.
